Mezonte's Raicilla Japo is made with yellow maguey (Agave rhodacantha), a synonym or closely related to Mexican maguey. This Raicilla is produced by Hildegardo "Japo" Joya in Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco. Japo is 87 years old (as of 2019) and still produces regularly. As is traditional in this region, he harvests the agave only under the light of the full moon.Production Region: Jalisco
