Cascahuin Extra Anejo is a tequila aged for 48 months in American oak barrels and then naturally stabilized for four years in pipones (traditional wooden vats) at the Cascahuin distillery, which is over 60 years old.
Its color is a natural amber.
On the nose, it reveals aromas of very ripe and cooked agave, with notes of honey, pineapple, light notes of menthol, and Darjeeling tea leaves. Thanks to its many years of maturation, aromas of coffee beans, bitter chocolate, red fruits, and orange peel are also evident. The long stabilization period gives the tequila a graphite nuance.
Sweet flavors dominate, with a hint of barrel astringency, which also imparts an aftertaste of cooked agave and the robust flavor of our blanco tequila.
It's a silky drink with a good balance between the woody flavor of the barrel aging and the fresh tequila, which doesn't recall its long 16-year process, from the field to barrel aging. It also features the sweet, herbaceous notes characteristic of the Jalisco Valleys.
Distilled in copper/steel.
70cl.
