Don Mateo Alto is a pure Michoacán product from master mezcalero José Emilio Vieyra Rangel. True to family tradition, this mezcal is made with spring water and uses only Inaequidens agave grown on the estate. Slight variations in the stills and cooking methods make it a unique mezcal, very different from any other produced in Oaxaca.
The nose of this mezcal is ripe with agave, pine, and citrus, with a herbaceous aftertaste.The palate is broad and envelops the entire mouth. On the palate, it presents intense citrus notes and deep earthy notes that blend into a long, smoky finish.
